let's go have a picnik

I explored Picnik, a photo editing site. With this site you can dress up some of your pictures. You can change the exposure, add text, borders and clip arts. You can also remove red eye and whiten teeth (which is a little weird if you ask me) I like using this website because you can make your pictures a little extra special, it is also something fun to do when you want to procrastinate. ;)

This is an orginal picture that I took with my best friend Aubree:

Scraptastic!

I personally have never scrap booked but I have many friends that do. I am just turned off by all of the cutting and pasting and trying to find just the right picture. I was really excited to find digital scrap booking!! Not only do I not have to deal with scissors and glue but my project will be saved forever with no chance of getting stained by coffee or chewed up by my dog :)

I really enjoyed working on this website. It was simple and easy to use, even my grandma could figure it out. You could spend 5 minutes putting a simple page together or 5 hours making the coolest page you have ever seen. I made a page about building a sand castle with my family.

You just chose a background, pull up some pictures, slap on some text and you are good to go! I will definitely be using this program in the future. It is a fun way to display and share pictures with your friends with some personality involved. You can even put it as a facebook application! :)

I <3 podcasting!

I found podcasting and using the Audacity program to be really simple. The hardest part was coming up with a topic to talk about. I chose to kill two birds with one stone and send a "voicemail" into my favorite podcast. They prefer that you record it using the Audacity program and email them the file for better sound quality. So I got to work and play at the same time :) On that podcasts website that have a really awesome video tutorial on how to use the program. I emailed everyone a link to it, but here it is again. http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/video-tutorials/

I'm going to admit I'm not a huge fan... I don't bookmark anything at all even on my own browser. And I don't like the extra toolbar it added to my browser.

My name is Melissa. In reality most of my friends and family call me Missy. I am a sophomore studying Elementary Education with a middle licence in geology and astronomy. The geology and astronomy part makes me a little nervous but it would be so much fun to be a middle school science teacher!

I have an amazing family filled to the brim with all kinds of aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and so on. I have two siblings, Andy who is 21 and Keleigh who is 16.

We have two dogs. A doberman named Cooper and a miniature schnauzer named Jack. They are really funny together and Jack (the smaller one) bosses Cooper around. I couldn't image my life without these two crazy boys.

On top of my real family I have an AMAZING church family! I know that they will always be there for me whenever and where ever I need them. My senior year our youth group took a trip to Mexico to build a house. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had in my life. I learned how fortunate I am and I grew in ways I never thought possible.

Last year I went to USI in Evansville and I met some really cool people there. My roommate Stacey, my neighbor Micheal and my RA Brittany. They will be my "forever friends." I miss them sometimes when I am up in Indianapolis all by myself. I can't wait to visit them!!

My favorite place in the whole world is Walt Disney World. My family goes once every couple of years and we always have a good time. We have our own little traditions like Eating Around the World where we eat in every country in World Showcase at Epcot. My favorite part of WDW is the Carousel of Progress. It is the best ride there!

In making my blog I found that it was a little confusing at first. I wasn't sure exactly how to put a profile picture on or edit my profile. After clicking around on the tool bar for awhile I figured it out. I thought it was really cool that I could but multiple pictures in my blog, and I think it is really fun to look at pictures of what people are talking about. I would suggest not changing the font color too much. Once I changed it I could not figure out how to change it back to the default color because that color was not marked as the default. I would also suggest using the spellcheck feature. It is set up in a really neat way and it easy to use.
